Hello time traveller!!

Over the past few weeks, the regularly schedules programming of The Windsor Scene was periodically interrupted by life. Fortunately, with the return of cooler weather and school, we also return to a solid schedule and routine, which means more original and unique content from Windsor-Detroit’s campus community radio station, CJAM 99.1 FM.

We’ll be kicking off this return to the norm this Wednesday, September 12th from 5 until 6:30 pm with a little help from a local band.

Two members of local rock outfit Vultures? will be joining us in the studio to discuss their newest 4 song collection, Wake EP. One year ago we had the boys in to celebrate the release of The Deuce EP, and if that is any indication, this show will be awesome as well. We shall be discussing the creation of the album, what the band has planned for the coming months, and Phog Phest 4, which they shall be partaking in this coming weekend.

Phog Phest is a yearly event hosted by Phog Lounge (157 University Ave. W.), and held in the parking lot on the corner of University and Victoria. This twelve-hour show will feature numerous local and out-of-town favourites, including Gypsy Chief Goliath, New Country Rehab, Rural Alberta Advantage, Learning, Club Thunderbolt, The Unquiet Dead, Cobra and Vulture, Cellos, James O-L and the Villains, and special performances from the Jam Space Jam Academy bands.

To help promote awareness of this awesome festival, we’ll also be hearing music from participating bands, and even giving away a free pair of tickets!

That’s right, tune in between 5 and 6:30 for your chance to call in and win a free set of passes to Windsor’s best summer music fest. For reference, here are the phone numbers you’ll need;

In Windsor and the surrounding area, the number is 519-971-3630

From Detroit, dial 1-855-DIG-CJAM

And there you have it, folks. No where else will you find such a vast array of tunes strictly from Windsor and it`s numerous live-music venues. So don’t miss this weeks instalment of The Windsor Scene.

(Although if you do, it is available as an itunes podcast)
