Police Investigating Dead Body Found in Fire on Louis Avenue

Windsor Police are taking over an investigation after a deadly fire this morning.

Firefighters were called to a single story home in the 800 block of Louis Avenue around 5:15am. Fire crews found a bedroom on fire and heavy smoke coming from the house.

Firefighters located a victim in the bedroom but the victim had passed away.

A fire investigator attended the scene but the matter has been handed over to police.

Windsor Police’s Major Crime Branch is investigating and the Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office has been notified.
