Scarecrows for Charity is a unique contest where you can design your own scarecrow and help charity out at the same time.
The contest held by Cindy’s Home & Garden had 15 entries last year, and is hoping to double that this year.
To enter the contest simply fill out an entry form, bring it to Cindy’s Home & Garden and you will receive your wooden scarecrow frame to design. All scarecrows will be displayed the 1st of September until the 20th of October during Kingsville’s 43rd Annual Migration Festival.
The winning charities will be awarded cash prizes: 1st place $500, 2nd place $300 (sponsored by United Communities Credit Union), 3rd place $200 and a Facebook prize for the scarecrow photo with the most likes will be awarded $100.
As a new feature to this year’s charity event, Cindy’s is inviting Legacy Auctions to auction off all of the scarecrows following the awards on Saturday, October 20th at 2pm. This gives each charity an opportunity not only to win 1 of 4 prizes, but to also receive a donation to the charity their scarecrow represents, through bidders in an auction.
