Just after 9pm Thursday evening, the Burger King located at 300 Tecumseh Road East was robbed by a lone male.

Police say the man entered the store, approached the counter and ordered a meal from the manager who was taking orders. The man then leaned over the counter and demanded that the manager open the cash register and give him all the money in it.

The suspect then advised the suspect that she had 20 seconds to open the till or he would shoot her. The manager told police that she noticed that the suspect had his right hand tucked under his shirt as though he was holding a gun however no weapon was seen.

The manager opened the till and the suspect reached over the counter and grabbed a quantity of cash before fleeing the restaurant on foot out of the south door.

The suspect was last seen running westbound on Tecumseh Road East toward MacDougall Avenue. The manager was not injured and there were no other customers in the restaurant at the time of the robbery.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 30 years, 5’9″, skinny build, short brown hair and balding on top with stubble on his face. He was wearing a white long sleeve baggy shirt with black lettering, light blue jeans and running shoes. He was also wearing sunglasses.

Police are exploring the possibility that the same suspect may be responsible for the robbery of the Petro Canada Gas Station on Wednesday.

Anyone with any information regarding this robbery or the identity of the suspect is asked to call Police Investigations at 519-255-6700 ext. 4830 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 519-258-TIPS (8477).
