Firefighters responded to multiple reports of heavy smoke coming from a house in the 1100 block of Wyandotte East shortly before 11pm Tuesday night.
Crews arrived to find smoke billowing from the windows and doors of the house located at the corner of Wyandotte East and Pierre. Firefighters found fire in the basement and reported that the fire appears to have originated in the electrical panel.
The blaze was quickly extinguished. An inspector has been called to the scene to investigate the exact cause.
No one was injured but damage to the building is significant.
