Windsor Fire and Rescue Services will be giving demonstrations today and tomorrow to show how residential sprinklers provide excellent fire protection to control, contain or extinguish fires until help arrives.
Windsor Fire and Rescue Services is encouraging residents to consider installing sprinklers in their homes.
Deputy Chief Brian McLaughlin says “Sprinklers protect lives and property by keeping fires small. Because the sprinkler system reacts so quickly, it can dramatically reduce the heat, flames, and smoke produced in a fire, allowing people more time to escape safely.”
Windsor Fire and Rescue Says that it is especially important to install a home fire sprinkler system in homes with persons who may not be able to get out without help, such as people with disabilities, young children, or older adults.
Windsor Fire will be demonstrating the benefits of a sprinkler system using a specially designed sprinkler trailer that simulates a fire and illustrates the benefits of early smoke detection and water sprinkler fire suppression.
The trailer will be available for public viewing on both today and Wednesday from 12pm to 8pm at the Safety Village, 7911 Forest Glade Drive.
Fire prevention officials will also be on-site and available to answer questions.
