Border Road: Highway 3 Road Diversion Opens to Traffic

After months of design, preparation and paving, the Windsor-Essex Parkway’s first diversion road has opened to traffic.

Westbound traffic traveling after St. Clair College will be presented with a near seamless transition as the road bends to the right through an area previously occupied by houses.

The diversion road, known as “D4”, is necessary to move traffic off of a portion of the ages-old Highway 3 so work on the Parkway can commence in that area. The diversion is only serving westbound traffic at this time.
