Millionth Patron Set to Walk into the WFCU Centre Today

The WFCU Center opened on December 2nd 2008 and has seen thousands of people pass thought its doors for Spitfires hockey, Cirque du Soleil, Elton John, Hedley, Blue Rodeo, high school graduations, Superdogs, Border Wars MMA event, The Wiggles, Disney Live!, monster truck events, the Harlem Globetrotters, and much more, and today they are set to welcome their millionth patron.

The millionth patron has tickets to today’s opening performance of Sesame Street Live “Elmo’s Super Heroes”, and will be surprised with a one-millionth themed prize package including an authentic Windsor Spitfires jersey, two tickets to every event at the WFCU Centre through the end of this year, a million seconds of Windsor Spitfires hockey during the 2012-2013 season, a WFCU (Windsor Family Credit Union) prize pack including a $500 scholarship to assist with your educational expenses, a million words to read from the Windsor Star, a million sips of Pepsi-Cola, and a $100.00 gift certificate from Ovations Food Services to use at WFCU Centre concessions.

“Since the doors of the WFCU Centre have opened, we have been able to show what an asset the facility has become, bringing in shows to entertain both the City of Windsor and Essex County” said Doug Sweet, General Manager of Arenas and WFCU Centre, City of Windsor.

“From shows for children and families, all the way up to classic rock legends, future hockey stars, and world-class gymnasts, you can really grasp the truly multi-function purpose that the WFCU Centre was designed for.”
