The Arts Council Windsor & Region is looking for a full-time Executive Director. This person will be responsible for enhancing the ACWR’s public profile by engaging its member base and the broader community in Windsor and Essex County. They will report to the Board of Directors and the Executive Director will provide oversight for all ACWR operations including service development and delivery, gallery and volunteer management, marketing and communications, fundraising and financial management.

Key Responsibilities:
● Use traditional and social media to enhance the ACWR’s visibility and credibility within the community
● Work to increase funding through grants, memberships, solicitations and alternative sources of revenue
● Build alliances and partnerships with arts and culture organizations and the business community
● Manage the development and execution of ACWR services and programming
● Ensure tight control over, and reporting of financial transactions and budgets
● Maintain the utilization of the Artspeak Gallery, manage all gallery events and staff
● Maintain an orderly office administration, assist the HR Committee in hiring and managing staff and volunteers; ensure all government and grant reporting requirements are met.

Skills and Experience
● Post secondary degree
● Management experience of at least three years
● Demonstrated experience in project development and execution
● Ability to forge solid relationships in the community
● Solid organizational and administrative skills
● Excellent written communication, facilitation and presentation skills
● Experience in marketing and communications
● Proven record of grant writing and fundraising
● High degree of computer literacy, including MS Office, WordPress and social media expertise; experience in graphic applications, SEO and HTML would be an asset
● Strong connections to the arts and familiarity with provincial arts organizations

In addition, the Executive Director must reside within Essex County (or be willing to move), have a valid drivers license and have access to a reliable vehicle. The successful candidate will need to provide an updated police clearance.

This is a full time position requiring a flexible schedule with the ability to work some evening and weekends. The annual salary is $50,000.
