Football for a Cure Donates to Cancer Research

The Windsor Regional Cancer Centre received a cheque today from the Windsor and Essex County Secondary Schools Athletic Association’s 2011 Football for a Cure campaign. A total of $11,800 raised this year by high school football teams throughout Windsor and Essex County.

Teams accepted donations and wore pink to raise awareness during October. This year 14 teams and the local football referee’s association participated and gate receipts from games were also donated and the contribution to cancer research is nearly double the previous year.
