Police Investigating First Murder in Over Two Years

Windsor Police  are investigating the city’s first murder in over two years, which occurred on Thursday, November 24, 2011.

At approximately 11:00 pm police were called  to a residence in the 1400 block of Albert Road for a report of a stabbing.   Upon arrival, police found a 40-year-old male bleeding from a number of stab wounds to his body.  The victim was transported to Hotel – Dieu hospital where he was pronounced dead.  The victim was a Windsor resident and his name is not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin.

A 30-year-old man is in Windsor Police custody and will appear in Provincial Court this afternoon.
