“Stunt Driving” Charge Laid for Man Clocked Going 195 km/hr on Expressway

Windsor Police have laid a charge under the “Stunt Driving” legislation after a vehicle driven by a 22 year old was clocked doing 195km/hr the E.C. Row Expressway on Saturday afternoon.

Just before 1:00 pm on Saturday a Windsor Police traffic Enforcement officer was stationary conducting radar enforcement in the center median on E.C. Row at Jefferson..  At this time, the officer observed a black Chevrolet Cobalt travelling eastbound at a very high rate of speed.  The officer clocked the vehicle with his radar unit travelling at 195 km/hr, in the posted 100 km/hr zone.

The officer followed the vehicle as it exited the Expressway northbound on Lauzon Road, where he stopped it just north of the Expressway.

The 22 year old male driver of the vehicle was issued a summons for “Performing a Stunt on a Highway – Speeding”.  The man’s driver’s licence was automatically suspended for seven days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
