The City of Windsor is now accepting applications or nominations for its first Poet Laureate. The Poet Laureate will serve for two years beginning November 2011.
Contributing to the cultural life of the city, the Poet Laureate of Windsor provides a unique opportunity to promote poetry to a wide and appreciative audience while strengthening the public’s relationship to literature.
Application or nomination forms for the honorary position can be found on the city’s website. The call for application or nominations and submissions will close on Friday, October 7, 2011. All applications must be received by mail at the Parks and Recreation Office, 2450 McDougall Street, Windsor, Ontario, N8X 3N6.
All nominations and submissions will be evaluated by a five-person jury comprised of representatives from the arts community, media, City Council, Windsor Public Library, and City of Windsor Recreation and Culture.
