After weeks of inactivity and a “Closed For Inventory” sign, a local sweet spot has returned.

A situation developping without notice recently had Windsor candy lovers worrying. Merely weeks after their Block Party event and months after opening, Candy Orbit’s windows were papered as the store remained closed. Facebook updates were few and far between but those managing the account said the store would be back and apologized for any inconvenience.

No matter how different, some things remain the same as candy lines the walls of Candylicious.

Now, with a new name and management team, Candylicious (1520 Wyandotte St.) has opened to the public. While stores sometimes lose their luster with new owners, former visitors of the Walkerville business have nothing to worry about – this place still has lots to choose from and plans on adding more.

Upon arrival, visitors will notice that the store itself is a bit more organized. Areas are arranged differently but still give customers a sense of nostalgia. You can find Bottle Caps, Big League Chew, Runts, Sweet Tarts and candy sticks to name a few. There are also Wonka candy, sour candy and gum sections to help satisfy any sugar-craving.

Candylicious is fully stocked with various gums, Wonka and sour candies: Only a fraction of what's available to customers.

Candy like Skittles can be purchased in tins and several candy-related trinkets are also on sale. Pucker-powder dispensers are a unique item and the walls are still lined with enough candy (including blow pops and large lollipops) to give an elephant a sugar-rush.

While retaining the classics, newly featured items include movie time snacks – cookies & cream, mint chocolate chip cookie dough and chocolate chip cookie dough bites. The owner also plans on introducing milkshakes and slushies to compliment his Chapman’s ice cream selection, which is a great way to cool off in the summer. He mentioned introducing hot chocolate this winter as well.

The store has giant lollipops, a Pucker Powder dispenser and even Chapman's ice cream.

With a store exterior still gaining attention, the future is looking bright for the Walkerville establishment. Whether it’s sour candies or fruity flavours, Candylicious has your sweet tooth covered.
