A notice from the City of Windsor's Building Department was affixed to the door of Grace Hospital, Friday afternoon
Late Friday afternoon, the City of Windsor’s Building Department posted a notice to the door of Grace Hospital indicating that the site was out of compliance with Building Code regulations.
This notice comes after the Province of Ontario canceled a contact with developer Lou Vozza to build a long-term care facility, during a 2pm news conference this afternoon.
Mr. Vozza had to meet a noon deadline today to provide financing for the development, which he did not.
The order on the door indicates that the owner must “secure any Openings to the building on the North and West elevations of the building this is to include all windows” [sic] and lists the defects as “Broken windows on the North and West elevations” and “Many areas where the fencing has been damaged to allow entry into the site and building”.
The order states the corrections to the site must be corrected by “6:00 p.m. June 24, 2011”.
