This past weekend the Meet-A-Machine event was held at the WFCU with great success. Work vehicles from various industries were showcased such as: Windsor Police, Transit Windsor, CTS Coxon’s and the Canadian Armed Forces to name a few.
Children were able to climb into the driver’s seat and have a first-hand look at how many of the vehicles worked by having access to all areas of the vehicles. Throughout the event children were able to take rides in a cherry picker, explore the back of an ambulance, and continuously honk the horns of all of the vehicles, much to their delight.
The Ontario Early Year’s Center was also on hand to give out packages promoting literacy – the main reason for which the event was held. The event, hosted by the Windsor Early Years program, was the first of hopefully many more to come.
