A group of African Canadian students from Walkerville Collegiate Institute is organizing today at 9:00 AM a Peaceful March/Demonstration Against Racism and For Unity” outside of Walkerville Collegiate Institute . This peaceful demonstration is being organized to offer a united voice in response to the recent incidents of racism and hate speech which have taken place at Walkerville, against people of African descent.
Interested members of the community who are available today at 9:00 a.m. are being asked to join the students of Walkerville in showing that hate messages and threats are not acceptable in our society. The students have obtained special permission from the school administration to have all students (of all ethno-cultural backgrounds) released from classes from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. so that the whole school can participate if they wish.
