The Windsor Spitfires were unable to convert on the powerplay last night, only scoring on one of the 11 possible opportunities.  Several were 5 on 3 advantages.  Stephen Johnston scored the only Windsor goal during the second period at the WFCU Center before 5541 fans.  Windsor’s defense was a worry going into this game, but performed very well along with Jack Campbell who made 35 saves.  Nobody expected such a low score for two of the top offensive teams in the league.  Erie was ranked third for goals scored, and Windsor fourth overall in the league.

Game two of the series is set for Saturday night at the Tullio Arena in Erie, Pennsylvania.  Game three is back in Windsor Monday night.
