At the WFCU Center, the Kitchener Rangers took on the Windsor Spitfires and came out with a 5-3 win. John Cullen was starting in net for Windsor and put fourth a great effort. Windsor had a 2-1 lead at the end of the second but within the last minute of the second period, the Rangers were able to tie it up and add another goal just seconds into the third period. Tom Kuhnackl added his second of the night with just 5 minutes left to tie the game. Then Kitchener’s Rieder put the game winning goal past Cullen with just 1:46 left in play before an empty net goal by the Ranger’s D’Amigo sealed the deal for Kitchener.
The Spits take on the Plymouth Whalers on Friday at the WFCU Center. This game will honor their late captain, Mickey Renaud.
