The intersection of Walker Road and Wyandotte Street East has been called one of the city’s biggest traffic headaches as construction progresses in the area. Fortunately, once it’s complete, it will be a state of the art traffic juncture.
The new intersection is nearly complete; paving is just wrapping up, lines must be painted and new signal lights installed. The previous intersection did not have dedicated left turning lanes nor bike lanes, both are being added with this reconstruction. Sanitary and storm sewers are also new, along with new watermains.
The intersection is being constructed by J & J Lepera Infrastructures Inc. with consulting by Dillon Consulting.
