Friday, July 30th – Windsor, Ontario: A 22-year-old female drowned around 4:20am at Sand Point Beach early Friday morning.
Police state that the girl and 3 male friends swam out past the buoy rope line, at which point the girl went missing. One of the male friends who tried to rescue the female also nearly drowned.
Police maintain that alcohol and inability to swim were two contributing factors to the incident.

Police have not yet released the identity of the female, as they still need to notify the next of kin. It has however been stated that she is a student at the University of Windsor.
