It’s a day to celebrate in Windsor! Our city has made it onto the board of the new Monopoly: Canada Edition.
Windsor Mayor Eddie Francis joined hundreds of students at Our Lady of Perpetual Help elementary school on Tuesday morning for a live online announcement — from Ottawa — on the makeup of the new Monopoly board, scheduled to be on shelves in time for Canada day.
Windsor captured the 6th position, taking the place of “Marvin Gardens”, a familiar name on the board of the popular realty game. Windsor joins Trois-Rivieres and Quebec City in the ‘yellow’ section.
Chatham-Kent took home the prize through the online vote conducted earlier this year, snagging the most expensive “Boardwalk” spot. Mayor Eddie Francis spoke to the great success and passion of the local Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent region.
