A report to Council next Monday recommends the closure of several neighbourhood assets such as pools, community centers and libraries in order to build the new downtown aquatic centre.
The communities that will be effected by theses changes plan to rally at that council meeting, and to prepare to do so are holding two community meetings this week. The purpose is two-fold. First to prepare delegates to tell city council why community pools and libraries should not be sacrificed for an aquatic centre. They also want to show city council that can and will organize to protect neighbourhood resources.
The first meeting will be held at the College Avenue Community Centre (3325 College Ave) on Tuesday from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm
The second meeting will be held at the Windsor Public Library, Main Branch in the Fred Israel Auditorium on Thursday from 7:00 pm to 9:oo pm
