Mayor Eddie Francis announced yesterday he plans to run for a third term. This will be breaking a campaign promise he made seven years ago when Francis promised to only run for two terms and didn’t want to become a “career politician”. He cites having unfinished business transforming the city as the main reason for seeking re-election. Francis said he received many concerns from investors and taxypayer’s that if new leadership were to come in, then it risks setting back the direction that he has put the city towards. Francis’s main focus will be jobs, economic diversification and development. He cites holding the line on taxes, reducing the city’s debt, running the city more like a business and making investments in the city.
