Baristas and Books

Original blog by Tourism Windsor Essex

Windsor Essex knows how to brew…and book! Whether you can’t start your morning off without it or you love an afternoon pick-me-up, Windsor Essex baristas have you covered. And what pairs better with a cozy cup of coffee from your favourite local coffee shop than a book to lose yourself in from your favourite local book store. To celebrate National Barista Day on March 1, 2022 we’ve created pairings as perfect as a mystery novel and a macchiato.

CHANCE COFFEE AND BIBLIOASIS BOOKSHOP

Chance Coffee is inspired by those taking the path less traveled, the misfits fueled by passion & caffeine. They are a micro roaster dedicated to sourcing and roasting the sweetest coffees. Speaking of the path less traveled… Biblioasis is an independent bookstore selling used and new books across a range of genres, including literary fiction and non-fiction, regional interest and is one of the leading publishers in the country.

FLOW CAFE & BIKES AND RIVER BOOK SHOP

Stroll the streets of historic Amherstburg and enjoy the sights of King’s Navy Yard Park after you pick up a new book at River Bookshop and put some caffeine in your cup with a coffee from Flow Cafe & Bikes. River Bookshop is grounded in the community but open to the world. Better yet: ride your bike to pick up a tasty beverage and treat from Flow Cafe & Bikes!

JUNIPER BOOKS AND  CAFE AMOR & ART

Cafe Amor & Art is small family business offering great specialty coffee and food and promotes Mexican art and culture with its cozy and happy gallery sections. Enjoy a chai latte and then head up the street to Juniper Books, a great source for literary scholars, collectors, avid readers, or anyone looking for a great selection of good quality used books.

RED LANTERN COFFEE CO. AND ESSEX COUNTY LIBRARIES

Travel the world… one book and one cup of coffee at a time with Essex County Libraries and Red Lantern Coffee Co. Essex County is home to 14 Library Branches … opening up a limitless world to discover! And what better way to explore the world from the comfort of your home than with a fresh, locally roasted coffee in your hand from Red Lantern Coffee Co. A small batch coffee roaster located in Kingsville providing fresh, locally roasted coffee from around the world.

CIAO CAFFE AND WINDSOR PUBLIC LIBRARIES

Stick to the city limits and indulge in a European style coffee shop with great atmosphere and great coffee at Ciao Caffe. Pick up a new read at one of the 9 branches of the Windsor Public Library and enjoy a sandwich, panini or dessert along with your coffee!

WHEN YOU NEED A SECOND DOSE OF CAFFEINE…

… head to a few more of our favourites: Anchor Coffee House and Taloola Cafe in Walkerville and JOE.Hot+Cold with two locations in Kingsville and Colchester. Click here to explore all things Coffee Culture in Windsor Essex. Happy sipping!
