We know you want to visit with Santa — that’s the message behind a new initiative at Devonshire Mall aimed at letting children with Autism feel safe and anxiety-free when meeting Santa this holiday season.
Devonshire Mall will be staying open late on Sunday December 8th and Sunday December 15th in order to invite children with Autism and their families visit Devonshire Mall:
Santa and Mrs. Claus would like to invite children on the Autism spectrum and their families for a sensory-friendly visit with us at Devonshire Mall. After the Mall closes, take advantage of a quieter opportunity to enjoy time and a photo with Santa. Sensory impulses will be muted and a number of systems will be used to reduce the anxiety which is common when waiting in line.
The event runs from 6:30pm to 8:30pm on both Sundays. You’re asked to enter through Devonshire’s Tim Hortons entrance.
