Twenty-two dollars and fifty cents gets you a breathtaking trip down the Detroit River, thanks to the new Macassa Bay cruise ship that’s docked and ready for service in Downtown Windsor.

Local entrepreneur John Sheridan has put together Windsor River Cruises, the first tour boat in the rose city in many years.

“This will be great for Windsor and the downtown area. We mounted many hurdles this summer to get this going but we made it and we are all very excited about it,” said Sheridan in a news release.

The Macassa Bay is a 93 foot, 180 passenger crusing vessel that will take landlubbers on trips anywhere from Windsor to Amherstburg.

Cruise rides feature dining by Executive Class Catering and a bar in a salon on the main deck with tables and seating for 80 passengers.

The ‘Bay is setting sail next Friday for its first featured cruise — a three hour tour from Amherstburg’s Boblo Island dock to Windsor with bus transportation to the starting point.
