UWindsor School of Music Opens 2012 With Concerts Showcasing Soloists

The University of Windsor’s School of Music will kick off 2012 with two very different concerts.
This Sunday at 2:30 pm, the Ron W. Ianni Memorial Scholarship Competition will take place at Assumption University Chapel. This special recital features solo performances by top student musicians representing each instrument group competing for the Ron W. Ianni Memorial Scholarship. These students qualified for this scholarship by receiving the highest marks in the instrument jury in December 2011.
Tickets are $10 for adults and seniors and $5 for students with ID.

Christina Bell, soprano
Amelia Daigle, mezzo-soprano
Andjela Stevanovic, flute
Katherine Raiger, trumpet
Meghan Chamberlain, marimba
Tasula Calfas, piano
Victoria Turner, violin
Reece Smith, classical guitar
The on Sunday, it’s the Concerto Showcase concert also at Assumption University Chapel at 2:30pm. This concert features solo performances by top student musicians accompanied by the Windsor Community Orchestra.

Assumption University Chapel is located on the 2nd floor of the Assumption University building located at 400 Huron Church Road on the west side of the university campus.
