A three-day heat event is forecast for Monday through Wednesday.
Environment Canada says maximum temperatures are expected to reach 31°C or 88°F on Monday. Maximum temperatures are expected to be even hotter on Tuesday and Wednesday, possibly reaching near 35°C or 95°F in some places.
Little relief from the heat during the overnight hours on Monday night and Tuesday night is expected.
This heat event has the potential to continue into Thursday or even Friday.
Hot and humid air can also bring deteriorating air quality and result in the Air Quality Health Index approaching the high-risk category.
