Construction is entering the final stages of a new parkette paying tribute to Hiram Walker on Riverside Drive and Devonshire Road.

The parkette will be home to the life-sized bronze statue of Hiram Walker standing on top of six whiskey barrels.

The statue depicts Mr. Walker walking from the Distillery to the town of Walkerville with plans under his arms. The parkette design integrates a rill (rail) that runs underneath the statue. At either end of the rill are bronze plaques, one depicting the town of Walkerville and the other the Distillery, connecting these two elements through Hiram Walker himself.

The parkette is expected to be finished by July, just in time for Walker’s birthday.
