Attempted Break And Enter in LaSalle

LaSalle Police are investigating an attempt to break into a home in the 3500 block of Donato Drive early Thursday morning.

Police say the homeowner contacted police after being awakened by a noise and observed a person trying to enter through their patio door around 3:45am.

After being startled by the homeowner, the suspect fled on foot, and officers arrived on the scene within minutes of the call to investigate. The suspect was not located, and police believe that they left the area in a vehicle that was waiting in the 7000 block of Disputed Road. The only description of the suspect was a male wearing a black hoodie.

Police are asking residents in the area to check their video surveillance to determine if they captured any footage of this incident.

LaSalle Police reminds everyone to keep their residence doors and windows closed and locked, especially at night. We encourage homeowners to consider installing surveillance cameras as this has proven to be an invaluable tool in fighting and preventing crime.
