The Greater Essex County District School Board is reporting COVID-19 cases at eight more schools in Windsor-Essex.

The board is reporting:

one case in a student at Anderdon Public School on November 19th
one additional case in a student at D.M. Eagle Public School on November 16th
three additional cases in students at D.M. Eagle Public School on November 17th

one case in a student at Gore Hill Public School on November 16th
three additional cases in students at Gore Hill on November 19th
one case in a staff member at Leamington District Secondary School on November 16th
one additional case in a student at Leamington District Secondary School on November 18th

one case in a student at Queen Elizabeth Public School on November 19th
one case in a student at Sandwich West Public School on November 17th
one additional case in a student at Talbot Trail Public School on November 18th

Greater Essex County District School Board public relations officer Scott Scantlebury has said the board does not release information about the number of cohorts or students affected by the case.

The board sent letters to the Anderdon school community, the D.M. Eagle school community, the Gore Hill school community, the Leamington District school community, the Margaret D. Bennie school community, the Queen Elizabeth school community, the Sandwich West school community, and the Talbot Trail school community.

“We have been working with the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU) by providing lists of students and staff who may have been in contact with the individual,” the letters state. “If you have not been contacted, you or your child (ren) have not been identified as close contacts. The WECHU is contacting any individuals (students and staff) who have an identified high-risk exposure with the confirmed case and will give directions to follow.
