A Taxi cab blitz was held in Leamington on Thursday August 26th, 2021 with OPP, the MTO and Leamington By-law Enforcement Officers.
The blitz focused on safety inspection focused on road worthiness of the motor vehicles and to ensure they are adhering to Highway Traffic Act regulations and by-laws, including licensing, documentation, and mechanical fitness.
During the blitz, 15 taxis inspected by MTO and only a couple minor defects found. Leamington By-Law Enforcement Officers inspected all 15 vehicles and discovered 5 By-law infractions.
