OPP are looking for a missing boater on Lake St. Clair.

Police say that around 3:30 pm Sunday, they were called to an address on Lakeshore Park Road.  They were told that a 58-year-old male went out into Lake St. Clair to go fishing at approximately 8:00 am in a small vessel off the shoreline near Stoney Point.  A kayaker later came across a small vessel on a sandbar, they noticed the vessel was unoccupied, and they contacted police.

The Essex County OPP Marine Unit, Chatham-Kent OPP Marine Unit, Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre are currently searching the area.  An aerial search of the area is also underway.

The missing boater is described as 5’10, 240 lbs. with a medium build, green eyes, short grey hair, goatee, and wears glasses. He was last seen wearing a blue two-tone tank top and light blue shorts.

OPP is asking for anyone who may have any information to contact them at 1-888-310-1122.
