National Sports Stores Closing

Canadian Tire has announced they will close all 18 of their National Sports stores.
Locally there are two stores—one on Legacy Park Drive and the other in Tecumseh on Manning Road and Tecumseh.
Canadian Tire says the closure is a move to reduce overlap in its sporting goods lines. They also own Sport Check stores.
National Sports started when Norm Clements created National Gym Clothing Limited, in 1968 selling sports equipment from the trunk of his car. The chain expanded to include multiple retail stores in Southern Ontario.
