The Town of LaSalle has once again received the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the Town’s annual budget document for the fiscal year beginning January 1st, 2020.
To receive this award, a governmental unit must publish a budget document that meets program criteria as a policy document, as a financial plan, as an operations guide, and as a communications device. Budget documents must be rated “proficient” in all four categories and in the fourteen mandatory criteria within those categories to receive the award.
“This is the fifth year in a row that LaSalle has received an award for our annual budget document. Our administrative team puts a lot of work into the document, and we are pleased to be recognized for this achievement,” said Mayor Marc Bondy.
There are over 1,600 participants in the Budget Awards Program.
“This award reflects the commitment of the Town’s Finance Department and administrative team to meet the highest principles of governmental budgeting. A Certificate of Recognition for Budget Presentation was presented to the Finance Department during the 2021 budgeting sessions in December,” said Joe Milicia, CAO.
