LaSalle Looking For Feedback On Malden Road

The Town of LaSalle is looking to complete a 10-year review of the 2009 Environmental Assessment for Malden Road/County Road 3.

“The project is focusing on Malden Road from the area north of the Town’s limits, southerly to Meagan Drive. This update is looking at changes that have occurred since 2009. The project will make recommendations to accommodate existing and future traffic demands,” said Peter Marra, Director of the Public Works Department.

To date, the town has identified problems and opportunities along the corridor.

• Widen Malden Road between Cahill Drain and Meagan Drive to three lanes (includes one lane in each direction and two-way left turn lane)
• Signalize the Reaume Road intersection
• Re-align and signalize Bouffard Road
• Install new sidewalks and buffered bike lanes on both sides of Malden Road
• Implement pedestrian crosswalk and multi-use trails near the Cahill Drain
• No changes are being recommended for the section of Malden Road between Normandy and the city limits (the work associated with this part of the 2009 EA has already been constructed)

The Town will be using PlaceSpeak, an online consultation platform that gives the community the opportunity to share their ideas and opinions about the project.

Feedback will be accepted until February 5th, 2021.
