FCA Canada has been awarded as the Co-op/Internship Employer of the Year for the 2019 calendar year by the University of Windsor’s Co-op, Career and Employment Services department.
Each year, a number of students from multiple engineering backgrounds are placed within the Company’s Automotive Research and Development Centre (ARDC) and Windsor Assembly Plant facilities.
Since FCA Canada’s partnership with the University of Windsor began at ARDC in 1996, there have been over 540 co-op placements at the ARDC alone.
In 2019, FCA Canada employed 30 co-op students in placements within the Automotive Research and Development Centre in Windsor. Students participated in project-based assignments and roles within engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, as well as environmental sustainability.
At the Windsor Assembly Plant, 18 engineering Co-op students participated in placements within the vehicle production quality department. The Windsor Assembly Plant also hires a number of students from the University of Windsor as full-time production supervisors during the summer.
