The Via Italia BIA partnered up with the City of Windsor and Windsor Police Services to hold a community alley clean-up Saturday morning into the afternoon.
Volunteers from area businesses as well as residents cleaned up alleyways all along Erie street alongside Windsor police officers.
“It’s a great way for the community to unite in this unparalleled time and work together towards a common goal of making the area even safer and more enjoyable for all,” Brandi Myles, the coordinator of the BIA, explains. “We truly value everyone that lives and works here, and we want the neighbourhood to be as inviting to visitors as it already is to those who are here daily.”
The clean-up event is part of a project the BIA is doing to make the area safer, with lights coming to the alleyways in the near future. The first wave of lights being added in is to happen this fall season.
