The 2020 Ford Fireworks, postponed from the end of June because of COVID-19, will occur on August 31st, but the show will be shot off from a secret location.
The Detroit Parade Company says that in response to this unprecedented time and with public safety as a top priority, the fireworks will not be held over the Detroit River and will not be viewable from the downtown area on either side of the river.
Instead, this year’s show will be a pop-up display at a location that will not be announced and will be shown only on Channel 4 WDIV TV from 8pm to 10pm.
“The Parade Company has an unwavering commitment to this important tradition and bringing great events to our community,” said Tony Michaels, president and CEO of The Parade Company.
