The City of Windsor reports that water sampling tests done on the water at Sandpoint Beach have shown E.coli levels of greater than 1000.
Access to the water at Sandpoint Beach is prohibited until results are within acceptable recreational water quality standards.
Staff will be on site at Sandpoint Beach during normal hours of operation to remind beach users that water access is prohibited.
The city says that use of the sand area will be permitted as long as participants are adhering to physical distancing and other safety protocol currently in place.
Additional warning tape will be installed at the beach to remind residents that they cannot enter the swimming area.
