The Windsor Essex Health Unit has issued a boil water advisory for a section of the Union Water System in the Municipality of Leamington.
This includes the North and south side of Mersea Road 10 between Highway 77 and Kent Rd 1. This includes Mersea Road 12 (addresses 958 to 1018) and Kent Road 1 (addresses 949 to 1019).
Officials say that there was an adverse water sample and possible contamination of the water supply.
Approximately 50 households are affected. The Union Water System is hand delivering notices house to house.
The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit is asking that only bottled water or water brought to a hard boil for one minute should be used for consumption or food and ice preparation.
The boil water advisory will remain in effect until further notice.
There have been no illnesses reported to date.
