Devonshire Mall is reopening for essential services that will be provided by only a handful of essential stores, mall officials announced Thursday.

In a notice posted to the mall’s website and sent by email, officials say “effective Friday, May 1st, 2020, access to Devonshire Mall will be available to certain essential services only.”

Officials say mall walking is prohibited, either formal or informal, and measures to reduce COVID-19 exposure are in place.

“We’d like to remind everyone that if you’re out for essential business to practice physical distancing and reduce exposure to other people. Avoid close contact (within two metres) with people outside of your immediate families,” the mall’s notice said. “Devonshire Mall will diligently enforce these new measures by restricting mall access to essential services only.”

Officials say Devonshire Mall’s hours will be Monday to Saturday from 11:00am to 6:00pm and Sundays from 11:00am to 5:00pm.

They say the following stores, deemed essential services, will be open:

“We will continue to take our direction in terms of operating and safety protocols from the Province of Ontario and City of Windsor and will communicate any further announcements as they become known to us,” said the mall’s notice. “If unsure, we encourage you to call the store or service you are looking to visit to verify whether they are open or closed.
