The Town of Lakeshore has closed several roads in Lighthouse Cove due to overland flooding.
High water on roads is a risk to individuals who may not be aware of roadways and property edges. People are cautioned to avoid the shoreline and areas where flooding is occurring.
The town says that there are a few roads in Lakeshore’s Lighthouse Cove community that have surface flooding from 3” to 6” in depth as a result of the strong winds. The Town along with Lower Thames Valley Conservation were assessing conditions today and will continue to monitor conditions.
Approximately 70 properties received sandbaqs delivered by Lakeshore staff over the weekend to protect their homes from flooding. Residents are advised to use the sandbags to protect home doorways and lower access openings around their homes.
