Rogers Hometown Hockey heads to LaSalle this weekend full of free hockey-related activities, NHL Alumni appearances by Kirk Maltby and Kris Draper, music, and fun for the whole family.

It takes place at the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex on Saturday from noon to 6pm, and on Sunday from noon until the event closes. Music will be performed by local artists Steve Oriet and Buck Twenty.

Ron MacLean and Tara Slone will be live at the Vollmer Complex on Sunday, February 23rd at 6:30pm for the broadcast as they tell the stories that celebrate the hockey history and culture of LaSalle. Stick around to catch the Calgary Flames take on the Detroit Red Wings on the big screen. Join us at 6:00 pm for our Parade of Champions featuring many of our local teams.

The LaSalle Vipers face-off against the Komoka Kings at 2:30pm on Sunday with a special Hometown Hockey puck drop. Tickets are $10 per adult, and seniors/students are $8. Tickets can be purchased at the door.

General Parking Information:

Parking Lot 1, located in front of the Vollmer Complex, will be closed for all access beginning on Thursday, February 20th. It will remain closed until noon on Monday, February 24th.

Parking is limited and town officials say that they anticipate that it may be challenging at times.  All the Vollmer parking lots (except Parking Lot 1) will be open with additional parking available in the lots near the soccer fields and ball diamonds at the Vollmer Complex.   If you park in a soccer field/ball diamond lot, the Vollmer Complex can be accessed by walking on the trails. Parking is also available and allowed at Sandwich Secondary School during the event.

Parking Lot 2 – Vollmer South Parking Lot (near the Gary L. Parent Rink) will be one way for traffic on Saturday, February 22nd and Sunday, February 23rd. Directional signage will be posted and security will be onsite enforcing and monitoring traffic flow.

Drop-off Zone:

The semi-circle in front of the Vollmer Complex (near the concession/food court doors) will be a drop-off zone. This can be used to drop-off children and/or equipment. Security will be monitoring this area, and stopping will only be permitted to drop-off. Idling or leaving vehicles will not be allowed. Parents who are dropping children off for the Parade of Champions on Sunday are encouraged to use this area.

Free Shuttle Service:

A continuous  free shuttle service will run from Windsor Crossing Premium Outlets (1555 Talbot Road) to the LaSalle Civic Centre (5950 Malden Road) to the Vollmer Complex (2121 Laurier Parkway) and back throughout the event. There will be signs posted at the pick-up locations at each site. The shuttle will start at noon at Windsor Crossing both days. The entire route will take about 30 minutes. LaSalle Transit will be operating free service on their regular route and schedule on Saturday, February 22.
