A new mixed-use development is in the planning stages for Old Sandwich Town.
Located on the corner of Mill and Sandwich, the plans would see the existing Barrel House building remain, and several new buildings constructed around it.
Plans call for a development that will serve University of Windsor students, including a new three-story building fronting Sandwich Street that will see 4,788 square feet of retail on the ground floor and ten residential units on the floors above with 49 beds total.
A second eight-storey building located at the rear of that property will see 50 units with 199 bedrooms built. A smaller two-storey building will front Mill Street with two units consisting of 12 bedrooms total.
Developers are holding an open house for community feedback on February 13th from 4pm to 7pm at Mackenzie Hall.
