Windsor Public Library Opens Temporary Home In The Paul Martin Building Monday

The Windsor Public Library will open its temporary home in the historic Paul Martin Building this Monday, February 3rd, 2020.

The library will take over two floors of the former government building with the Central Library staff, administration, finance and bibliographic services on the second floor, and the main floor will be home to the library branch.

“The 185 Ouellette site is in a prime location close to bus and bicycle routes with plenty of parking available in the area and convenient to St. Clair College and University of Windsor students,” says WPL CEO Kitty Pope. “Materials and resources not making the move to the new location have been distributed to other library branches. Library staff has worked hard to ensure 185 Ouellette is a welcoming public library space.”

Renovations cost approximately $1.77 million.

This location is intended to be temporary until a new home is built. That process is expected to take several years.

The current central library location has been sold to the Downtown Mission.

The library will open at 9am.
