There is a new strategic plan in Essex that will guide council decision-making over the next three years.
“This plan represents a vision for the future, and provides our community with a road map to get there,” said Mayor Larry Snively. “It is a document our citizens can use as a guide to where we want to go as an organization, while providing transparency and accountability as we push to meet our strategic goals and actions.”
The strategic plan includes six strategic priorities which were identified through community consultations and meetings with Council and staff beginning in February. The Town also conducted an online and paper survey which garnered nearly 500 responses.
The six strategic priorities include: Progressive and Sustainable Infrastructure, Healthy Community and Quality of Life, Financial and Economic Stewardship, Vibrant Growth and Development, Citizen and Customer Experience, and Organizational Effectiveness and Resiliency. Each priority includes a number of related strategic goals and action items to be accomplished.
The plan can be found online at www.essex.ca/strategicplan and paper copies will be made available at Town facilities in the coming weeks.
