Amherstburg Community Services will be providing free shuttle door-to-door round-trips to polling stations located in the town of Amherstburg on October 21st.
“It’s important to make voting as easy and affordable as possible,” said Kathy DiBartolomeo, the executive director at ACS. “We’re doing what we can to help people have their voices heard on election day. Not everyone gets to see it first hand, but for so many of our neighbours, transportation is a massive barrier. By providing this service in town and by offering it for free, we know we’ll be making a difference.”
The service will start at 9:30am and end at 4:30pm.
Anyone interested in accessing the shuttle must contact Amherstburg Community Services in advance to book their trip by calling 519-736-5471. The shuttle has limited seating, and voters will be booked on a first-come, first-serve basis.
