The 41st annual Art in the Park is set to go at Willistead Park on June 1st and 2nd.
“Every year the Art in the Park jury committee strives to attract the best artists and artisans from around Ontario and Quebec. We are proud to say that this year we will be presenting 260 artists and artisans with close to 30 brand new exhibitors working in a variety of media for the enjoyment of our visitors”, explains
Randy Winters, Chair of the Art in the Park Volunteer Committee.
Other events over the weekend include displays, performances and activities provided by many local arts organizations and collectives in the manor.
The Spirit & Food Court features a variety of tasty dishes from local eateries and adults can enjoy a cold beer from Walkerville Brewery or a signature cocktail or a fine glass of imported wine from Hiram Walker & Sons Ltd.
The state will feature a variety of local talent over the two days, and there will be music around the Park entertaining visitors as they stroll through the Park.
The Kids Zone is a safe, tented and enclosed area with lots of shade for parents and children as they play on the Redline inflatables or practice their skills at mini-putt. Face painting and art table are also available.
This year the festival will introduce a shuttle from Devonshire Mall, picking up in the north parking lot by the old Sears store. The free shuttle buses will again be available from the Hiram Walker parking lot at Riverside Drive East and Montreuil and the WRH lot at 1591 Kildare Road.
Also returning is the Bike Valet sponsored by Caesars Windsor Cares. The gate located off of Chilver Avenue will be a dedicated express entry for cyclists.
Art in the Park is open on Saturday, June 1st from 10am to 7pm and on Sunday, June 2nd from 10am to 5pm. Tickets are $5 at the gate.
Proceeds from this event are shared by the Willistead Restoration Fund and the charities supported by the Windsor Rotary Club (1918).
Over the past 40 years, Art in the Park has raised over $1.3 million for the restoration of Willistead Manor and its grounds and an additional estimated $2.1 million to support local community organizations including John McGivney Children’s Centre, Maryvale and others.
